The Hyannis Public Library and the Zion Union Heritage Museum invite you to

An Afternoon of Jazz on Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 2 p. m. to 4 p. m. at the Zion Union Heritage Museum, 276 North Street, Hyannis.
Author Mick Carlon will speak about his most recent book, Travels with Louis, a warm-hearted story of Louis Armstrong and 12-year-old Fred, who learns about jazz—and life—from the great musician himself.  Mr. Carlon is a regular contributor to Jazz Times magazine and the author of Riding on Duke’s Train, the critically acclaimed novel about Duke Ellington.
The afternoon session will also feature performances by jazz clarinetist Paul Nossiter & Friends. On July 4, 1957, Mr. Nossiter, along with Newport Jazz Festival founder George Wein, opened the Harwich Port jazz club Storyville with Louis Armstrong and Phyllis Diller as headliners.
Additionally, Jack Bradley, Louis Armstrong’s Road Manager & Photographer, will be our Very Special Guest and John Reed, President of The Zion Union Heritage Museum, will serve up Soul Food.
Ticket prices for An Afternoon of Jazz  are $5 for students, $10 for adults, and $20 for Families.
The proceeds from this event benefit The Hyannis Public Library and the Zion Union Heritage Museum.
