Library Hopping

My friend Maureen and I attended the Author Panel held at the Plymouth (MA) Public Library on Monday, April 23, 2012 featuring three extremely popular mystery writers: Kate Flora; Katherine Hall Page; and Peter Abrahams. Maine native Kate Flora (www.kateflora.com) has written eleven books, including the Maine educational consultant and citizen detective “Thea Kozak” series and the Portland, Maine Detective Sergeant “Joe Burgess” series. Her current project is a true crime book entitled Death Dealer about a Canadian serial killer. Katherine Hall Page (katherine-hall-page.org) is the author of the “Faith Fairchild” mysteries. The latest in the series, The Body in the Boudoir, to be published this month, will have you wondering if Faith will get to the church on time – and alive. Ms. Page lives in Massachusetts. Peter Abrahams (www.peterabrahams.com) has written twenty-seven novels, including books for middle-graders and teens. And Peter, writing under the name of Spencer Quinn, is author of the popular “Chet and Bernie” mystery series. These mysteries feature a canine sleuth, Chet (www.chetthedog.com) and his rather bumbling owner, private investigator Bernie Little. Peter Abrahams lives in Falmouth. The Author Panel evening was so enjoyable. These three very personable authors talked about their experiences about they started writing, and offered advice to members of the audience who were fledgling writers. Then each author spent time with Q & A from the over fifty members in the audience. Refreshments were served and, of course, their books were available for purchase and signing. Check out these authors soon at your library! www.clamsnet.org Cheryl Rowland is the Interlibrary Loan Coordinator for the Hyannis Public Library.
