AUTHOR'S LUNCH with NANCY RUBIN STEWART, Jan. 22

Author luncheon, to be held Sat Jan 22, 2011 at 12 noon, Alberto's Ristorante, 360 Main St. Hyannis. Tickets are $30. Our guest author will be Nancy Rubin Stewart, author of "American Empress; the Life and Times of Marjorie Merriweather Post " and "Muse of the Revolution; the Secret Pen of Mercy Otis Warren and the Founding of a Nation." A local author, she will speak on "The Challenge of Writing Women's Biographies." Tickets are available at the Library. Friends Author Series Features Poet Peter Saunders

Long-time Chatham resident Peter Saunders will put a spotlight on poetry -- his own and the subject itself -- at the next Friends of the Hyannis Public Library Cape Cod Author’s Series. The date is Sunday, February 28th at 2 p.m. in the Hyannis Public Library.
Peter wrote his first poetry when he was 59 and has authored ten books of poetry, including Ask Any Frog and Heartbeat of New England. His latest collection of poems is entitled My Father’s Shoes. A regular on WOMR-FM
Peter teaches “So You Want to Be a Poet” at Cape Cod Community College and has facilitated writing and poetry workshops in Chatham and Orleans for the past 15.
Each summer, Peter attends the Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center and does frequent tapings on WOMR-FM’s Poetry Corner. For eleven years, he has been part of Chatham First Night’s Pinsky Favorite Poem Reading event.A $5 donation is suggested to benefit the library and some of Peter’s books will be available for purchase and signing.
